Rafael Nadal leaves hospital after undergoing surgery to remove appendix

World number three Rafael Nadal leaves hospital two days after having his appendix removed.

Rafael Nadal has left hospital after undergoing a successful operation to remove his appendix.

The Spaniard, who has not set a date for his return to action, decided last month that he would address the problem, which hampered him for a number of weeks.

According to ESPN, when leaving the Quiron Teknon hospital, Nadal said: "Everything went well. It was simple, ordinary surgery."

A statement confirmed that Nadal has been advised by doctors not to return to full training until after one month of recovery from the key-hole surgery.

Nadal will miss the season-ending ATP World Tour Finals at the O2 in London later this month.
