Ivan Lendl not ready to return to coaching

Ivan Lendl decided against returning to coaching after discussing the possibility of working with Tomas Berdych, according to the world number seven.

Ivan Lendl has passed on the opportunity to return to coaching with world number seven Tomas Berdych.

The 54-year-old, who has been away from the sport since parting company with Andy Murray earlier this year, recently suggested that he was open to taking a new role in the future.

However, Berdych has revealed that Lendl was unable to commit to coaching him on a full-time basis when the two discussed working together.

"I had a great time talking about tennis with Ivan Lendl today. Result? Ivan would like to help me but he is too busy," Berdych confirmed on his Twitter account.

Lendl helped Murray to victory in two Grand Slams and at the Olympics in 2012.
