Roger Federer says that Tomas Berdych is capable of beating him in their Dubai Tennis Championship semi-final later today.

World number two Roger Federer has said that he must focus on his own game in order to defeat Tomas Berdych and reach the final of the Dubai Tennis Championships.

The Swiss maestro defeated Nikolay Davydenko to set up a clash with the Czech number one later today.

He holds a winning 11-4 record over the 27-year-old, with his most recent victory coming at the Australian Open.

Federer, 31, admitted that he has yet to see Berdych play in the United Arab Emirates, but believes that he just needs to concentrate on performing at his best.

"I've struggled somewhat against [Berdych], but very often it's because his game is so big that he has a big say in the outcome of the match," Federer told reporters.

"I have had a couple of other ones where I have been able to come through, so we'll see tomorrow how it goes.

"I haven't seen him play at all here this tournament. I need to just focus on my game, I guess."

The other semi-final sees Novak Djokovic take on Juan Martin del Potro.
