Kyle Edmund has admitted that facing Novak Djokovic at the Miami Masters will allow him to see where his game currently ranks against the world number one.
Wednesday's three-set triumph over Jiri Vesely enabled the British number three to advance through to the last 64, and while he is a huge underdog to beat Djokovic, he has acknowledged that he is looking forward to the challenge.
The 21-year-old is quoted by Sky Sports News as saying: "It will be a huge honour for me to play the world number one - it's not every day that you get to say that.
"He is the guy to beat at the minute. He is playing at such a high level and he will be very tough to beat. I watch plenty of matches on TV and try to learn from him.
"He does everything very well but more importantly for me, it will be a great experience for me and a great opportunity to see where my game is at."
Edmund is currently ranked at number 87 in the ATP rankings, but he is as high as number 36 for results registered in 2016.
