Jo-Wilfired Tsonga books his place in the last eight of his home Grand Slam in Paris.

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga has reached the quarter-finals of the French Open for the second time in his career this afternoon courtesy of a 6-3 6-3 6-3 victory over Viktor Troicki.

The French number one started brightly in Paris and he produced a string of forehand winners, which Troicki was unable to return. That handed the initiative to Tsonga and it took him just 26 minutes to pick up the opening set.

Having spurned three break points early in the second set, Tsonga eventually made inroads on his Serbian opponent's serve for a 4-3 lead and then went on to win the next two games to leave him just a set away from victory.

It was a similar outcome in the third and what proved to be final set as Tsonga's power proved too much for Troicki to handle and he won through in an hour and 45 minutes, having still not dropped a set during his 2013 campaign at Roland Garros.

He will now take on either former world number one Roger Federer or compatriot Gilles Simon for a place in the semi-finals.
