David Ferrer has eased into the quarter-finals of the French Open courtesy of a 6-2 6-2 6-4 victory over Marin Cilic in Paris.
The Spaniard showed his intent early on by going a break up at the first time of asking, and continued to dominate by snatching Cilic's serve once again four games later.
Cilic failed to create a single break point in the first set and it was a miserable start to the second as he lost his opening serve once again.
The 26-year-old tried to fight back immediately, but Ferrer saved two break points and went on to grab serve again before sailing into a two-set lead.
The third set went by the way of serve in the early games, but it was Ferrer who found the breakthrough to go a single break up, which was all that was required for the Spaniard to put his name among the final eight.
