Roger Federer too good for James Duckworth

Wildcard James Duckworth proves to be no match for Roger Federer, who books his place in round two of the Australian Open with a 6-4 6-4 6-2 win.

Wildcard James Duckworth proved to be no match for four-time champion Roger Federer in the opening round of the 2014 Australian Open.

Sixth seed Federer needed just 106 minutes to take care of business at Rod Laver Arena, where he prevailed 6-4 6-4 6-2.

Despite hitting 13 aces, Duckworth conceded 17 break points, four of which were converted by Federer, who won all 14 of his service games, facing just one break point in the process.

Federer recorded 30 winners, 17 unforced errors and won 18 of 22 points at the net.

The 17-time Grand Slam champion will face either Radek Stepanek or Blaz Kavcic in round two.
