Victoria Azarenka breezes past Caroline Wozniacki in straight sets

Victoria Azarenka powers through to the fourth round by beating Caroline Wozniacki.

Victoria Azarenka is through to the Australian Open third round, after she beat Caroline Wozniacki in straight sets.

The unseeded former champion looked back to something near her best in a very complete performance that saw her run out a 6-4 6-2 winner.

Azarenka took control of the match early on, as she broke Wozniacki's serve in the opening few games of the first set.

The Dane did manage to get that break back, but Azarenka powered her way to a second break that helped her wrap up the opening set.

The former champion, who suffered with injury last season, broke again early in the second set, and she closed the match out with some precise serves and powerful ground strokes.

Azarenka will play Barbora Zahlavova Strycova in the next round.
