Andy Murray has expressed his happiness at having clinched the Vienna Open title this afternoon.
The Scot lost the opening set to David Ferrer, but he rallied to eventually win 5-7 6-2 7-5 in the Austrian capital.
It is a victory that has boosted Murray's chances of qualifying for next month's ATP World Tour Finals at London's O2 Arena, as he has now moved ahead of both Ferrer and Milos Raonic into eighth spot.
"It always feels good to win a tournament. It was an extremely difficult match. He deserved to win the first set, I deserved to win the second set I think and the third set could have gone either way," the two-time Grand Slam winner told reporters.
"It has been a great week and I am very happy to have been here. Whoever qualifies for the finals will deserve it. It is the best players over the 12 months and we will see over the next weeks but it is going to be very close."
Murray will now look to secure his spot at the season-ending event by participating at tournaments in Valencia and Paris.
