Jonny Wilkinson has said that he is hoping for a "happy ending" to his last ever game on British soil.
Wilkinson's Toulon will meet Saracens at the Millennium Stadium for the Heineken Cup final today in what will be the Englishman's penultimate professional appearance.
"The thought of leaving the final without a happy ending to this journey is a painful one," the 34-year-old fly-half is quoted as saying by BBC Sport.
"We've got to do everything we can to make sure it doesn't end like that."
Wilkinson was capped 91 times for England, famously kicking the drop goal that won the World Cup for his country in 2003.
The last game of his 17-year-career will be next week's French Top 14 final against Castres in Paris.
