Mark McCall salutes Saracens togetherness in Clermont Auvergne thrashing

Mark McCall insists that it does not matter who Saracens face in the Heineken Cup final and praises their togetherness in the last-four thrashing of Clermont Auvergne.

Saracens boss Mark McCall has described their record-breaking Heineken Cup last-four victory over Clermont Auvergne as a "special day" for the club.

The London outfit reached the final of the competition for the first time with a 46-6 win on Saturday, which set new highs for number of points, number of tries and biggest winning margin in a European semi-final.

McCall has attributed this to the "togetherness" of his team, and has insisted that it is not important who they face, reigning champions Toulon or Irish outsiders Munster, in Cardiff on May 24.

"It doesn't really matter," he told BBC Sport. "Everyone thinks it's going to be Toulon but you write Munster off at your peril.

"It was a special day and hopefully sets us up for something more memorable [in the final]. The togetherness, the fight... it was brilliant."

Sarries, who crossed the line six times against Clermont, lost to Toulon in the semi-finals of last year's Heineken Cup, with Jonny Wilkinson scoring all the points with his boot in a 24-12 scoreline.
