Saracens coach Mark McCall frustrated by draw with Leicester Tigers

Saracens coach Mark McCall believes that poor officiating contributed to his side's draw with Leicester Tigers.

Saracens coach Mark McCall has hit out at officials after a late penalty saw Leicester Tigers earn a 21-21 draw against his side in the Aviva Premiership.

Sarries were leading 21-18 with barely a minute remaining at Welford Road on Sunday when Rhys Gill was controversially penalised for not scrummaging properly.

Owen Williams then stepped up to kick his seventh penalty of the match to earn the Tigers a share of the spoils.

"I thought it was a penalty for us," McCall is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News. "It's obvious to most people who have watched it. With 45 seconds to go, of course you are going to be disappointed that it's taken away from you.

"But we should never have been in that position. It was a very tight game, a bit of an arm wrestle, but we seemed to have the edge all game. Every time we got ourselves six points up we found a way to allow them back into the game. Our discipline was not up to standard."

Saracens continue their league campaign next Sunday when they host Northampton Saints.
