George North 'comes round' after head collision

Northampton Saints director of rugby Jim Mallinder confirms that winger George North is awake after he was stretchered off with a head injury.

Northampton Saints winger George North has not suffered a serious injury, despite being carried off on a stretcher against Wasps.

The Welsh international was kneed in the head by Wasps number eight Nathan Hughes, and he was taken off to the dressing room to be assessed.

Saints director of rugby Jim Mallinder told BT Sport: "He's come round. He clearly took a bang straight to the head but he came round and he sat up in the changing room and even managed to have a little sing-song. We'll look after him and hopefully he'll be okay for next weekend."

North scored two tries in the 52-30 victory.
