London Irish director of rugby Brian Smith dismisses exit talk

London Irish director of rugby Brian Smith plays down speculation claiming that he could leave the club at the end of the season.

London Irish director of rugby Brian Smith has dismissed reports that he could leave the club at the end of the season.

The 48-year-old returned to the Madejski Stadium in March 2012 having previously coached the team between 2005 and 2008.

The Exiles are currently in 11th place in the Aviva Premiership table following seven defeats in their opening nine games.

"Stuff that's circulating now about various coaches and players, it's just that time of season," Smith is quoted as saying by BBC Sport. "That's all there is - it's purely speculation at this point.

"I've got a contractual agreement with the club. When all that's resolved and sorted then we'll share it with the world but at the moment the stuff that's in circulation so far has been speculation."

London Irish continue their league campaign on Sunday when they make the trip to Wasps.
