Conor O'Shea: 'Harlequins have more to offer after Sale Sharks win'

Conor O'Shea demands more from his Harlequins team after their narrow 16-14 win over Sale Sharks.

Harlequins director of rugby Conor O'Shead has claimed that his team cannot be proud of their performance, despite beating Sale Sharks on Friday.

A try from Tim Visser helped Quins to their third win in four games, in a match where England captain Chris Robshaw returned to action, but not as a number seven.

However, despite the victory at The Stoop, O'Shea is demanding more from his players.

He told reporters: "We've started the season well, but tonight was not a performance we can be proud of at all. I don't care about winning and losing and I never have - I care about the way you play and the energy you bring.

"For 20 minutes in the second half we did well to get a 16-7 lead but then we let it go. We said before the game we wanted to show people what we're about and there won't be too many people afraid.

"We've got a win which we potentially didn't deserve, but I know where we're at as a team because of how well we've played over the last few weeks."

Quins are currently level on points with leaders Saracens, but the champions have a game in hand against Northampton Saints this weekend.
