Jonny Wilkinson believes that this England side will stick together despite their Rugby World Cup exit at the hands of France this morning.

Fly-half Jonny Wilkinson believes that the current England side has a bright future despite their Rugby World Cup exit.

England lost 19-12 to France in Auckland this morning, but Wilkinson thinks this generation of players can stick together and improve on their quarter-final finish next time around.

"This team will stay together, keeping building and I'm sure the next World Cup will be different," Wilkinson told ITV Sport.

"They have got lots of dangermen and they got a foothold in the game with the points on the board. We gave ourselves a massive task, but I'm proud of the way the boys took on that task."

Reports have suggested that Wilkinson may retire from international rugby after this year's tournament.
