Sam Warburton says that it will take a while for the British and Irish Lions' series triumph over Australia to sink in.

British and Irish Lions captain Sam Warburton has admitted that his team's series win over Australia is yet to sink in.

The Lions achieved their first series victory in 16 years with a 41-16>triumph over the Wallabies in the third Test in Sydney last Saturday.

"It is a great feeling," RugbyRugby.com quotes Warburton as saying. "This Lions tour has been a long time coming so it is nice to come back with a trophy.

"It has only been done nine times in 125 years so all the players know they are part of a very prestigious group and are very proud of that. It won't sink in for a long time, I think. It feels quite surreal being part of a Lions touring party."

A hoard of fans greeted Warburton and his teammates when they touched down at Heathrow Airport today.
