Castleford Tigers 28-42 Hull FC

Hull beat Castleford 42-28 to condemn their opponents to the bottom of the Super League.

Castleford Tigers dropped to the bottom of the Super League after falling to a 42-22 defeat against Hull FC this afternoon.

Sam Moa opened the scoring for Hull with a try after 10 minutes before Nick Youngquest and Jonathon Walker crossed to put Castleford ahead.

Willie Manu levelled the scores for the visitors but Grant Hillington touched down after 28 minutes to restore the Tigers' advantage.

Loose forward Jordan Turner then crossed to bring the match level again heading into the break and a further two tries at the beginning of the second period put Hull in control.

Danny Tickle added to his three conversions by touching down himself before Brett Seymour's try made it 30-18 to the visitors.

An effort from Castleford's Josh Griffin reduced the deficit but tries from Tom Briscoe and a second for Manu gave Hull a comfortable lead and rendered Brett Feres late score for the hosts a consolation.

The loss, combined with Widnes's 38-30 win over London Broncos, leaves the Tigers propping up the table with eight games played.
