Clarke Carlisle has revealed that the driver of the lorry that hit him during the ex-Burnley defender's suicide attempt has refused to see him.
The former chairman of the Professional Footballers' Association jumped in front of the vehicle on the A64 in December last year.
Carlisle, who spent almost six weeks in hospital with numerous injuries, has since revealed that he tried to take his own life as he was at the pit of depression.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, Carlisle spoke of how he has tried to contact the lorry driver through the police.
"He has refused to see me and I completely respect that," said Clarke. "He is going to be traumatised massively and he needs to do what he needs to do."
Today, the 35-year-old helped launch the first Mental Health Charter for Sport at The Oval in London.
