Danny Kerry named Team GB head coach

Danny Kerry is installed as the head coach of England and Great Britain's women's hockey teams until the 2016 Olympic Games.

Danny Kerry believes that England and Great Britain's women's hockey teams can "continue to challenge" the best teams in the sport.

After leading England to a silver medal at the Commonwealth Games, Kerry has been confirmed as the head coach of both England and Team GB until the next Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, and he believes that his team are capable of winning a medal in two years' time.

The 44-year-old is quoted by BBC Sport as saying: "I believe that we can continue to challenge the best in the world.

"I look forward to working with this talented group of players and staff, to push hard for further medals at major tournaments, secure qualification for the Rio Olympic Games and to perform as serious contenders in Rio."

Kerry was initially placed in temporary charge in June when Jason Lee left the position after the team's poor performance at the World Cup.
