Steve Bull: Let's drag West Bromwich Albion into mire

Wolves legend Steve Bull urges Mick McCarthy and his players to beat West Brom on Sunday and drag them into the relegation dog-fight.

Steve Bull has attempted to rally Wolverhampton Wanderers' players by reminding them that a win in Sunday's clash with local rivals West Bromwich Albion will drag the Baggies deep into a relegation scrap.

"Some people might have been thinking there were only four teams fighting for survival, but as many as seven could still be involved in it," Bull told the Sunday Mirror.

A Wolves win would close the gap between the Black County rivals to just two points and Bull is sure that will be on the players' minds come kick-off.

He added: "As a derby it will have all the elements of the fans who have their local pride, but for the players it has to be all about three points because of the bigger picture.

"I know some people have been disappointed with the season so far, which has been very mixed.

"I could say we've not had a lot of luck, but everybody can claim that and the truth is we didn't expect to be in the bottom four at this time, but we are.

"In truth, I don't think that's so bad for what Wolves have spent and what they are doing, but the key thing is we have hard workers on the pitch who are capable of lifting us clear."

Bull is Wolves's record goalscorer, with 306 goals during 13 years at Molineux.
