Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez has hinted that goalkeeper Chris Kirkland could be on his way out of the club this summer.
The 30-year-old had his recent loan spell at Doncaster Rovers cut short after he experienced back spasms.
Kirkland's current contract at the DW Stadium expires at the end of the season, but Martinez was reluctant to talk about the former England international's future.
"I can't wait to see Chris playing and enjoying his football but at the moment the competition here is very strong," said Martinez. "We need to assess the situation."
