Wigan Athletic forced to settle for draw against Huddersfield Town

Huddersfield Town hold Wigan Athletic to a 0-0 draw in their Championship clash at the John Smith's Stadium.

Wigan Athletic dominated from start to finish against Huddersfield Town at the John Smith's Stadium this evening, but had to settle for a 0-0 draw.

The away side were on the front foot throughout, but could not turn their possession into chances.

Huddersfield Town's best chance came through the recalled Daniel Ward inside the first few minutes as his wild cross nearly found its way past Scott Carson.

Wigan Athletic's first chance of note came on 24 minutes when striker Andy Delort's flick-on put Don Cowie through on goal, but he could only balloon his effort over the bar.

Jon Stead was just as wasteful as he sent his header from Jacob Butterfield's free kick high and wide when well placed at the back post just before the hour mark.

Both sides made a series of late changes as they tried in vain to find a winner.
