Southampton came back from a goal down to beat West Ham United 3-1 at Upton Park this afternoon.

Mark Noble struck a deflected effort into the bottom corner before Morgan Schneiderlin levelled things up on the stroke of half time.

After the restart, Schneiderlin netted his second after some slack defending from the Hammers at a short corner and Graziano Pelle sealed the points late on with his first Premier League goal.

Well, that's all from me. I hope you've enjoyed the commentary - until next time, bye for now.

Well that's all from me, I hope you've enjoyed the commentary. Until next time, bye for now...

Sam Allardyce will be disappointed with how his side conceded the second goal, but he will be furious with his team's display in the second half. They weren't at the races at all, and Southampton will take a deserved victory back to the south coast this evening.

Well there we have it! Wantaway star Morgan Schneiderlin with a brace as Graziano Pelle sees his performance rewarded with a goal. Ronald Koeman's side were worthy winners.

FULL TIME: WEST HAM 1-3 SOUTHAMPTON

Southampton are content just to see this out now. They're comfortable in possession and they will leave with the points.

Plenty of the West Ham fans are already leaving and in truth their side hasn't given them anything to shout about this half.

UPDATE: NEWCASTLE 3-2 CRYSTAL PALACE

That is surely game over then for the home side. Southampton have been too strong this half.

Wonderful play from Clyne who fires it across goal but Adrian makes the stop. However Pelle reacts first and he steers it home to crown a good performance with a deserved goal.

GOAL! WEST HAM 1-3 SOUTHAMPTON (PELLE)

Great tackle by Yoshida to deny Valencia the chance to run away from the defence. The Ecuador international looked set to burst away but he was halted on the half-way line.

Pelle goes in the book for arguing with the official after handling it. Enner Valencia comes on. Let's see what the £12m man can do in the final 12 minutes or so...

Great save by Adrian to deny Pelle from the short free kick. He really hammered the ball goalwards there.

West Ham haven't looked like getting back into this in the second period. There has only been one winner from the whistl. Bit we know what football is like, and Southampton will be keen to add a third while they're on top.

UPDATE: Newcastle 2-2 Crystal Palace

UPDATE: Swansea are now winning 3-0 at home to West Brom

Jack Cork is on for James Ward-Prowse.

Sam Allardyce will be furious there. West Ham fall asleep, Southampton take a short corner and it's left for Schneiderlin to tap in at the back post.

GOAL! WEST HAM 1-2 SOUTHAMPTON (SCHNEIDERLIN)

Gaston Ramirez comes on for Shane Long.First league appearance of the season for the Uruguayan.

Wasteful from Downing there. West Ham break away with a counter, but the former Liverpool winger is tackled by Schneiderlin when he had acres to dart into.

Southampton are really turning the screw here, surely they need to make this domiancne count with a second goal. Shane Long gets it inside the box but scuffs his shot at the keeper.

UPDATE: Manchester City 0-1 Stoke City

BOOKING Joey O'Brien goes in the book for a tough tackle on Tadic.

Well Southampton will feel hard-done by there. They will have to forget about it and try and claim another though. Meanwhile Ravel Morrison has come on and he's involved early on

GOAL RULED OUT! Pelle has a goal ruled out for offside. Incorrectly too, it's a mistake from the fourth official, Great header from the striker.

Zarate and Vaz Te could be about to make way for the Hammers.

It's Tadic who hits it and it strikes the wall and goes out for a corner...

Font finds Ward-Prowse who is allwed to turn around 30 yards out but his shot is blocked before Winston Reid brings the Saints youngster down in a similar area to the shot. Good chance here with Ward-Prowse's delivery...

Dusan Tadic forces Adrian into another save before Schneiderlin misses with a half-volley inside the area. Could have easily have gone in there. As it happened, it dropped into the crowd. All Southampton here.

This second half certainly has more intensity to it. Both teams are giveing it their all at the minute.

Straight up the other end and Cole just misses out on Kouyate's dangerous delivery. Plenty of cut and thrust here. Well, more than the first half anyway.

Southampton have certainly started well here. Clyne puts a great ball right across the six-yard box but no one can make the most of it.

No changes for either side at the break. Adrian is forced into an early stop from Shane Long. Good effort from the Irishman.

KICK OFF We're back underway!

UPDATE: Burnley held Manchester United to a goalless draw at Turf Moor earlier this afternoon. Mancheser City are also goalless with Stoke City at the Etihad. Newcastle are level with Crystal Palace at the break, while QPR lead Sunderland thanks to Charlie Austin's first-ever Premier League goal. Swansea are in control with a 2-0 lead against West Brom. Everton entertain Chelsea later this evening.

Let's get an update on the other games in the Premier League then shall we...

There have only really been the two goals and Vaz Te's chance to document at the end of the half. What a save it was from Forster to keep the West Ham striker out though. The Saints fans were singing "England's number one!" after it.

Well it wasn't a classic 45 minutes, but Southampton will be delighted with the timing of the goal. The Hammers will kick themselves for their inability to see out the first half after taking the lead. Game on for the second period then!

HALF TIME: WEST HAM 1-1 SOUTHAMPTON

Schneiderlin pops up the back post from a free kick delivery and his well-struck effort is blocked well by Downing but he's calm with the second attempt and he passes it into the net with his left. One each!

GOAL! WEST HAM 1-1 SOUTHAMPTON (SCHNEIDERLIN)

West Ham will be delighted with this. They've had been at their best, but they lead and they look keen to see it out to half time at this stage. Two minutes plus stoppage time left.

The game has just gone a bit flat the last few minutes, not much going on. Noble is back on the pitch though. It was a sore one, but he's fine.

UPDATE: NEWCASTLE 1-1 CRYSTAL PALACE

He's given the goalscorer a right boot there, and he's still down injured

Bit of a head-in-hand moment for Tadic there. He gets the ball on the edge of the box, his first touch is poor and he eventually fouls Noble trying to get it back.

Steve Davis fires it well over from the edge of the box after a nice one-two between Tadic and Schneiderlin I think it was. The former's cross reaches David on the edge but he blazes over. He'll be disappointed with himself there.

Nathianel Cylne and Aaron Cresswell have their own personal duel down the right here and the Saints right-back wins a corner, but Carlton Cole clears well.

Noble decides to take the shot on from around 25 yards out and it takes a deflection off Yoshida and beat Forster. A slice of luck for the Hammers. Big Sam won't grumble though.

GOAL! WEST HAM 1-0 SOUTHAMPTON (NOBLE)

Vaz Te flicks it to Cresswell and he combines with Noble but the defenders' cross is cut out. West Ham are gaining a foothold now though, it must be said.

CHANCE! Biggest chance so far. Downing's free kick clips the wall and it falls to Vaz Te. His left-footed shot is well saved by Fraser Forster with his legs. Great stop. Big chance for the Hammers.

UPDATE: Wayne Routledge has doubled the lead for Swansea at home to West Brom.

CHANCE! Downing's free kick strikes the wall and falls to Vaz Te and that was a great save by Forster with his legs. Superb stop from the keeper there. Big chance.

Mauro Zarate shows Schneiderlin a clean pair of heels and he wins the free kick in a good position, around 25 yards out...

Alex Song is in the crowd for today's game. What a coup that is for West Ham, they could do with him out there today, it's been lethargic.

Pelle does well to hold off Tomkins before releasing Clyne down the line, butNoble does well to get back and snuff out the threat. Great play from the midfielder.

The dead ball comes to nothing at the second time of asking. Plenty of argy-bargy going on in the box there. Still no real chance for either team.

Well let's hope the game perk up, because there's been very little to speak about here unfortunately. West Ham have a corner though...

The Hammers are struggling to get on the ball here. It's all Southampton without them ever creating anything clear cut. Tadic is looking lively though.

A succession of corners for Southampton here, James Ward-Prowse will deliver the second. It's short and it comes to Tadic who rides a challenge before corssing low. It is eventually cleared for West Ham and their counter comes to nothing.

Vaz Te almost gets on the end of a cross but Fraser Forster is out quickly and catches it. Good goalkeeping.

Southampton are seeing plenty of the ball in the early stages. It's all front of West Ham though.

More early goals! Nathan Dyer has netted for Swansea against West Brom. Some goals here would be nice! not a lot happening so far.

Marcus Gayle has scored for Palace, they lead Newcastle 1-0 already!

KICK OFF And we're off and running.

So we're around five minutes away from kick off, and we will of course try our best to keep you updated on developments from elsewhere in the Premier League.

I'm looking forward to watching Dusan Tadic this afternoon. The winger was lively against Liverpool a couple of weeks ago. He could be an important player for his new side this season.

I have been known to be wrong though, as hard to believe as it is, but I feel both teams will be cancel each other out this afternoon. Southampton are still trying to adjust after being decimated by the loss of key players and their manager in the summer. The Hammers were good against Palace, but the Saints are a different prospect than a side who were manager-less seven days ago.

PREDICTION: WEST HAM 1-1 SOUTHAMPTON

We're around 15 minutes away from kick off, so let's get a prediction shall we...

Meanwhile over at the Hammers, Allardyce has been explaining how he wants to add to his ranks before the September 1 deadline. "We have the budget for one quality player and that's a possibility before the window shuts," Allardyce said in his weekly press conference. "At the moment, I can't see anyone going the other way."

Our match report from Turf Moor will be available on the Sports Mole homepage as United continue to search for a first win under Louis van Gaal.

FULL TIME: BURNLEY 0-0 MANCHESTER UNITED

Southampton have been linked with move for Tottenham Hotspurs' Andros Townsend, but Koeman admitted earlier this week that the move was unlikely to come to fruition. He told reporters: "It's difficult because [Townsend is] one of the players on our list. It's very difficult but I don't expect good news on that."

Well worth a watch for all Saints fans. Saphir Taider has already left the club by the way. The 22-year-old only arrived on loan during the summer as Dani Osvaldo went to Inter Milan. However, he has failed to settle on the south coast and has gone back to Italy.

Southampton have a pretty creative way of revealing their starting lineup on their official Twitter account...

"They are happy if the team is winning and they are happy with their own performance but the best feeling for strikers is scoring. I think he can get double figures. We are happy to have Shane in our squad and we paid that amount for him as we believe in the qualities of the player."

A big day for new Saints striker Shane Long; eyebrows were raised when they spent £12m on the hard-working Irishman, but Koeman thinks that the former Hull City striker will justify the price. He said: "It is of course important Shane gets his first goal and that is the same for every striker. They live on goals...

Let's have a look at what the boys down at Sports Mole HQ have had to say on today's game shall we...

SOUTHAMPTON SUBS: Davis, Gardos, Ramirez, Wanyama, Cork, Mayuka, Hooiveld.

WEST HAM SUBS: Jaaskelainen, Demel, Poyet, Diame, Morrison, Valencia, Sakho.

The travelling Saints are still looking for their first win of the season. They began with a 2-1 defeat away to Liverpool, before a 0-0 draw against West Brom last week.

An interesting line away from today's game is the story of the Hammers' pursuit of Alex Song. The former Arsenal midfielder has failed to settle at Barcelona and Allardyce is understood to be keen to bring him in ahead of Monday's transfer deadline. What a coup that could be for the Irons.

So West Ham boss Sam Allardyce names an unchanged side, while Ronald Koeman gives starts to both Shane Long and Graziano Pelle, while Morgan Schneiderlin is in from the off. Will this be his final appearance for the Saints? We shall see.

SOUTHAMPTON: Forster; Clyne, Bertrand, Fonte, Yoshida; Schneiderlin, Davis, Ward-Prowse, Tadic; Long, Pelle

WEST HAM: Adrian; O'Brien, Cresswell, Reid, Tomkins; Kouyate, Noble, Vaz Te, Downing; Zarate, Cole.

Team news is expected any minute now, so we'll get that to you straight as soon as we can...

Good afternoon and welcome to Sports Mole's live commentary of Southampton's visit to West Ham United in the Premier League.
