Jack Collison hoping to impress in League Cup

West Ham United midfielder Jack Collison reveals that he hopes to impress manager Sam Allardyce during Wednesday's League Cup quarter-final against Tottenham Hotspur.

West Ham United midfielder Jack Collison has revealed that he hopes to impress manager Sam Allardyce in Wednesday's League Cup quarter-final against Tottenham Hotspur.

Despite seeing his chances limited in the Premier League, the Welsh international has featured regularly for the Hammers during their run in the tournament this season.

Collison now hopes to be given another opportunity to show what he can do tomorrow at White Hart Lane.

"It's a good chance for the players who haven't been playing so much in the league - the likes of myself, Matty Taylor and boys like that who have been working hard in training - and this is a chance to try and impress and try to force your way into the team in the Premier League, where everyone wants to be playing," he told the club's official website.

"It's going to be a fantastic game on Wednesday. It's a massive game for the fans, they love going to Spurs and beating them in the league this season was the highlight of the season for them so far."

West Ham continue their Premier League campaign on Saturday when they travel to champions Manchester United.
