Half-Time Report: Debutant Loic Remy goals gives Queens Park Rangers advantage

Loic Remy takes just 14 minutes to score his first goal in a Queens Park Rangers shirt against West Ham United.

Loic Remy got his Queens Park Rangers career off to a positive start by scoring the only goal of the opening 45 minutes from his side's trip to West Ham United this afternoon.

The hosting Hammers started the brighter of the two sides, but they were unable to convert two chances within the opening seven minutes.

First Marouane Chamakh failed to connect with a cross from Mohamed Diame, before from the resultant corner QPR goalkeeper Julio Cesar managed to hold a shot from Kevin Nolan.

Their failure to find the net was then duly punished as Remy opened his account for the R's with 14 minutes played. Adel Taarabt was the provider, slotting the ball through to the French international, who sprinted away from the West Ham defence before slotting the ball beyond Jussi Jaaskelainen.

West Ham's response was positive and they felt that they should have had two penalties in quick succession.

Chamakh was involved in both incidents with 30 minutes gone, but neither Clint Hill nor Shaun Wright-Phillips was adjudged to have committed fouls by referee Howard Webb.

As the half drew to a close, the visiting defence held firm to West Ham's pressure and as a result they lead heading into the interval.
