Zoltan Gera agent confident of Baggies stay

West Bromwich Albion midfielder Zoltan Gera is still in negotiations with the club regarding a new deal, according to the player's agent.

Zoltan Gera's agent Filipovic Vladan believes that his client is close to agreeing a new deal to remain at The Hawthorns.

The Hungarian midfielder's contract has expired, but despite the 34-year-old still recovering from a serious knee injury, his representative has insisted that the club remain keen for the former Fulham player to stay in the West Midlands.

Vladan told Nemzeti Sport: "If West Brom have not had the intention to keep Zoltan Gera, then they would not have talks with us.

"We have been negotiating about the conditions of the extension and hopefully the agreement will be made soon."

Gera made just 14 appearances for the Baggies last season.
