Watford manager Gianfranco Zola admits that he would like to secure a permanent deal for on-loan striker Matej Vydra.

Watford manager Gianfranco Zola believes that the club's owners will fund a permanent move for on-loan striker Matej Vydra.

The Pozzo family own both Watford and Vydra's parent club Udinese and Zola believes that they will be keen to see the 20-year-old forward continue his success at Vicarage Road.

Zola told BBC Three Counties Radio: "We're looking forward to seeing him signing a permanent deal with us. Hopefully it will be soon.

"Certainly the Pozzo family cares about this club a lot. The fact that they want to see this club progress certainly helps.

"I'm sure we will be looked after by them and I think that they are showing that."

Vydra has scored 18 goals in 30 appearances for the Hornets this season.
