Valencia midfielder Andre Gomes has claimed that his team "have a responsibility" to beat Zenit St Petersburg in their Champions League Group H opener on Wednesday.
Gomes has conceded that Zenit will provide 'tough opposition', but is confident that the Spanish club's home advantage will prove vital at the Mestalla.
"We're not concerned about the match and we know with a full Mestalla it's another experience," Gomes, who returned to action at the weekend following injury, told AS.
"We want people to come and fill Mestalla. If it's 99% full it affects the opponent and when Mestalla is with us, it's another thing altogether. Zenit will be tough but we're at Mestalla and we have a responsibility."
Valencia last competed in the group stages of the Champions League in the 2012-13 season, when they reached the last 16.
