USA coach Jurgen Klinsmann has hailed Gyasi Zardes's "special talent" following the winger's impact in this morning's 1-0 Gold Cup win over Haiti.
The 23-year-old - a half-time substitute - set up Clint Dempsey within minutes of his introduction for what proved to be the winning goal at the Gillette Stadium.
"Gyasi has this special talent to take people on and also with his speed and surprising elements," Klinsmann is quoted as saying by the MLS website.
"Because of these circumstances for all teams to play every three days, we also have to be careful how we bring these players through those first three games. You don't want to kill them."
Victory was enough for Klinsmann's men to seal top spot in Group A, with one fixture remaining - a clash with Panama, who drew 1-1 with Honduras in the earlier game.
Zardes has 10 caps for his country.
