Good morning and welcome to Sports Mole live transfer updates. It was a busy day yesterday, with Manchester United completing the signing of Matteo Darmian and agreeing a deal for Bastian Schweinsteiger.

Speculation overnight suggests that Real Madrid winger Denis Cheryshev could be on the way to Liverpool in a £22m deal. He has struggled to break into the first team at the Bernabeu as yet, and spent time on loan at Vilarreal last season.

Some interesting news coming out of Barcelona this morning, as Pedro has reportedly had his release clause slashed from £107m to £21m. Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City are all believed to be after the winger. Could this signal his departure?

DONE DEAL! It is not often you can say Red Bull Salzburg has beaten Manchester United to a signing, but that is exactly what has happened this morning. Sixteen-year-old Dayot Upamecano had reportedly agreed a deal with United last month, but Salzburg have now confirmed the signing.

Toby Alderweireld's arrival at White Hart Lane could signal the end of three defender's Tottenham Hotspur careers, including club captain Younes Kaboul.

Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke has been tipped to join Liverpool this summer. However, it would appear that Brendan Rodgers's side are facing competition for the Belgian international, as it is being reported that Manchester United are also keen on the 24-year-old.

Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford his summer, and MLS side Orlando City had revealed that they are in talks with the Mexico international over a move Stateside.

Inter Milan winger Xherdan Shaqiri was thought to be on the verge of a move to Stoke City last month. It's understood that the Potters agreed a fee, but would not finalise personal terms with the Swiss international. It now appears that he could still be on his way to the Premier League though, as Everton are said to be lining up a £12m offer.

Bastian Schweinsteiger is due to undergo a medical with Manchester United today. However Bayern Munich have promised their fans that he will be the only playing making the move to Old Trafford this summer, dismissing reports that Thomas Muller is also on his way to Louis van Gaal's side.

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a number of players this summer as they seek to end a five-year absence from the Champions League. According to reports, the North London side will make a £23m bid for Everton's Kevin Mirallas and James McCarthy.

Barcelona winger Pedro has been linked with a move away from the Spanish champions following the arrival of Pedro. It seems that he's turned to former teammate Cesc Fabregas for advice, and the now-Chelsea midfielder has reportedly convinced Pedro to join him at Stamford Bridge.

Turkish club Fenerbahce confirm that Manchester United striker Robin van Persie is expected at the club later today. They revealed that they were in talks to sign the Dutchman earlier this week.

DONE DEAL! Championship outfit Bolton Wanderers have signed ex-Liverpool academy graduate Jordan Lussey on a one-year-deal. The midfielder is expected to join up with the Trotters' Under 21 and development sides after impressing during a loan stint at the Macron Stadium last season.

BREAKING NEWS! More developments on the long-running Raheem Sterling transfer saga. The Reds star has been omitted from the club's squad for their pre-season tour. The 20-year-old was said to have been named in the squad initially, but it appears that movement from Manchester City has led to Sterling being left at home as the team fly to Thailand.

Sticking with Liverpool and defender Martin Skrtel has been speaking about his delight at agreeing a new deal with the Reds.

He told the club's official website: "It was [an] easy [decision]. My priority was always to have a deal with Liverpool. I'm happy we have got the deal and have agreed everything and I've signed the deal."


More on that Sterling story and Liverpool are reported to be in advanced discussions with Manchester City over the 20-year-old. It is thought that Blues are not willing to meet the Reds' £50m asking price, but have submitted a £45m bid, which has led to Sterling's omission from that pre-season tour of the Far East.

Moving North of the Border and Dundee United have reportedly completed a deal for Coll Donaldson. The 20-year-old was released by Queens Park Rangers after their relegation from the Premier League.

Southampton could be closer to completing a move for Jordy Clasie after Feyenoord left the midfielder out of their matchday squad for a pre-season friendly. The Dutch giants say that "serious interest" in the player led to his absence.

Laurent Blanc has said that Paris Saint-Germain are still interested in Angel di Maria, but has revealed that other clubs are keen on the Argentine winger.

He told L'Equipe: "Di Maria, he's good. We have more freedom, but it remains a difficult project for us because we're not alone in wanting him. When you see the financial power of the English clubs, they are attacking everyone. Competition is very, very tough."


It appears that AC Milan forward Stephan El Shaarawy is leaving the San Siro to join AS Monaco, with the Rossoneri TV channel showing the player saying his goodbye. More on that in a few moments.



El Shaarawy's proposed move to Monaco will see the forward join the Ligue 1 side on a season-long loan, but AS will have to buy the 22-year-old, should he play 15 games for the club.

DONE DEAL! Borussia Dortmund have allowed Ciro Immobile to join Sevilla on a season-long loan deal. Immobile scored just three times in his first season for Die Borussien.

DONE DEAL! Another Bolton Wanderers deal! This time ex-Real Sociedad Jon Cerebio has signed a one-year deal with the Trotters. Cerebio also played for Spanish youth team Antiguoko KE, where Xabi Alonso and Mikel Arteta developed their game.

Mark Lawrenson has labelled Raheem Sterling "pathetic" for his attempts to engineer a move to Manchester City. Sterling has been left out of Liverpool's squad for their pre-season tour of of the Far East, which is reportedly due to an increased bid from City for the England international.

Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentis has suggested that he could sell striker Gonzalo Higuain, but only for a fee of around £64.7m. De Laurentis was recorded discussing the potential sale of the Argentine star, saying that a deal could help Gli Azzurri buy as many as eight players.

Nicolas Gaitan of Benfica has been linked with a move to Manchester United in recent weeks, and agent Cassiano Pereira has confirmed that there have been talks between the two clubs.

DONE DEAL! Stoke City have confirmed that they have signed defender Glen Johnson on a free transfer from Liverpool. The 30-year-old has signed a two-year contract with the Potters.

Manchester United had been linked with Bayern Munich's Thomas Muller, but the German champions have insisted that he isn't going anywhere. As a result, it's now being reported that Louis van Gaal's side have revisited their interest in Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani.

Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli is expected to leave the club this summer, having struggled to settle at Anfield last year, and being left out of the pre-season tour squad. Another Mario who had a difficult season was Mario Gomez, who signed for Fiorentina last summer, and it is being reported in Italy that Liverpool are keen on a swap involving the two forwards.

Paris Saint-Germain's Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been the subject of some transfer speculation in recent weeks, with AC Milan and Inter Milan among those said to be interested in the Sweden international. However, manager Laurent Blanc insists that he is not leaving.

However, AC Milan midfielder Nigel de Jong is encouraging Ibrahimovic to move on, urging the striker to return to the San Siro.

It's been a day of long farewells, what with Iker Casillas's emotional goodbye to Real Madrid today, and we've seen another one here as Manchester United-bound Bastian Schweinsteiger bids Auf Wiedersehen to bayern Munich after 17 years. Here's his statement.

The Raheem Sterling transfer saga could be nearing its conclusion as it's being reported that Manchester City have agreed a £49m transfer fee with Liverpool to bring the England international to the Etihad Stadium.

One player who will be staying put is Chelsea's John Obi Mikel. Clubs in the UAE and Turkey were said to be interested, but Jose Mourinho reportedly blocked the sale of the Nigerian international when the Blues' valuation wasn't met.

Juventus should sell Paul Pogba! That's the view of ex-Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, who let the Frenchman leave Old Trafford on a free transfer three years ago.

He told Tuttosport: "Yes, it's true I already ended up losing him on a free, but now, if I were Juve, I'd sell."


Josh McEachran has suggested that he left Chelsea because "it was time for a fresh start". The midfielder signed a four-year contract with Championship side Brentford last week.

Staying in the Championship and Middlesbrough have reportedly agreed a £2.8m deal for Christian Stuani. The Uruguayan forward is yet to agree personal terms or have a medical as he is on holiday after playing in the Copa America.

Reports in France suggest that Manchester United are open to the idea of selling Angel di Maria to Paris Saint-Germain. The Red Devils are believed to be asking for £46.6m for the Argentine star. However, PSG are said to be eyeing Kevin De Bruyne as an alternative target.

Tim Sherwood has hailed Fabian Delph for showing loyalty to Aston Villa by rejecting a move to Manchester City.

Sherwood told the club's official website: "We are looking to build something here and we're looking to keep our best players.

"Fabian is certainly one of those. It's just an example of the measure of the guy really that he decided to stay - the loyalty he's shown to the fans, the football club and the chairman. And I'm delighted to have him here next season."


Chelsea are reported to be in talks with Brazilian club Internacional over a potential deal for Charles Aranguiz. The Chile international could be available for around £8m.

Tottenham have rekindled their bid to sign Morgan Schneiderlin, according to a report. Manchester United's interest in the Frenchman appears to have waned following the signing of Bastian Schweinsteiger, which should be formally completed over the coming days. Arsenal have also ended their interest, so it is thought that Spurs are in pole position.

Scott Dann has reportedly signed a new deal with Crystal Palace. The 28-year-old has been linked with a move to Everton, but it is thought that the Eagles will announce the new contract on Monday.

More exciting developments have reportedly taken place in regards to the future of Southampton's Morgan Schneiderlin. A number of reports in the press are now stating that the 25-year-old midfielder has been having a medical with Manchester United this evening ahead of a proposed move.

Champions League winners Barcelona have reportedly been tracking Paul Pogba's situation at Juventus ahead of a proposed move this summer. However, the club's president has today told the press that the 22-year-old Frenchman will not be a major priority for coach Luis Enrique during the current transfer window.

Former Barca stopper Victor Valdes has made just two appearances for United since officially joining the club in January. The keeper has recently been linked with a move to Turkish side Antalyaspor, but the player's agent has insisted that Valdes wants to remain at Old Trafford to fight for his place in the team.

Edin Dzeko appeared to find playing time hard to come by at Manchester City following the arrival of Wilfried Bony at the back end of last season. One report has now suggested that Roma are looking to close out a £15m deal to bring the 29-year-old frontman to Serie A during the current window.

One more story now before we head off and it concerns Premier League side Arsenal. It is being suggested that the Gunners could be close to sealing a deal for Napoli and Algeria full-back Faouzi Ghoulam. One report is even stating that the club could complete the signing in the next few days.
