Torino put four past Catania

Omar EL Kaddouri scores twice as Torino end a long winless run with a 4-1 victory over struggling Catania at the Stadio Olimpico.

Torino have moved clear of the relegation zone after returning to winning ways in emphatic fashion this afternoon, earning a first success in five attempts at home to Catania.

Giampiero Ventura's side were quick out of the blocks as Ciro Immobile struck the post early on, before profiting from a mistake from Nicola Legrottaglie to open the scoring just 10 minutes in.

Immobile hit the woodwork again soon after as Catania were swamped by a wave of attacks from the Granata, which led to a second from Omar El Kaddouri before the break.

Catania were handed a lifeline early in the second half, though, with Sebastian Leto reducing the deficit for the Serie A strugglers.

Hope proved to be short-lived for the visitors, though, as Torino restored their two-goal advantage on the hour mark through Emiliano Moretti, who rose highest to nod home from a corner kick.

Two minutes later a home win was put beyond doubt as El Kaddouri used quick instincts to net his second and Torino's fourth, picking up the pieces after Immobile's strike from close range had been parried back into the danger zone.
