Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup has confirmed that Neil Taylor has fractured his ankle.
The 23-year-old had to be stretchered off during the Swans' 2-2 draw with Sunderland at the Liberty Stadium following a challenge on Craig Gardner.
Laudrup said that Taylor, who was given oxygen as paramedics attended to him on the pitch, looks like he will be out of action for "a long period".
"[The medical team] are talking about a fracture - it's the ankle," Laudrup told BBC Sport.
"We don't know if it's one or two [fractures], but we're talking about a long period."
Taylor played for Team GB at the Olympics.
