Report: Gus Poyet keen to sign Rene Adler

Sunderland manager Gus Poyet reportedly wants to sign Hamburg goalkeeper Rene Adler is he has recovered a knee ligament injury.

Gus Poyet has reportedly identified Rene Adler as a potential signing for Sunderland during this summer's transfer window.

According to Clubcall, the Hamburger SV goalkeeper had been due to meet with the club last week, but the trip was postponed amid concerns over a knee injury that he sustained last season.

The report also says that the Black Cats are lining up a move for former Manchester City stopper Costel Pantilimon should Adler still be suffering from the knee ligament problem.

Poyet is keen to sign a keeper to provide competition to first-choice goalie Vito Mannone.
