New Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas has confirmed that the club are interested in signing Emmanuel Adebayor on a permanent basis.
The Togo international spent last season on loan with Spurs from Manchester City under the management of Harry Redknapp.
However, despite Redknapp's departure, Villas-Boas has revealed that Spurs remain keen on tying Adebayor to White Hart Lane on a lengthy contract.
"Adebayor is another player who was important for last season and it will be a lie if I say we are not looking for a striker and Ade is part of that list," the Portuguese boss told reporters.
City are believed to want around £7m for Adebayor's services.
