Real Betis allegedly become the latest club to identify Tottenham Hotspur defender Jan Vertonghen as a potential signing.

Real Betis are reportedly ready to join the race for Tottenham Hotspur defender Jan Vertonghen.

With just under six weeks remaining on his contract, Vertonghen is expected to end his eight-year association with Spurs later in 2020.

Despite having just turned 33, the Belgium international will not be short of offers as clubs take a bigger interest in free agents.

While Inter Milan and Roma are said to be monitoring the situation, Marca claims that Betis are ready to provide competition to the Italian giants.

As a result of Betis currently sitting down in 12th position in the La Liga table, significant additions are expected during the next transfer window.

Vertonghen has made 26 appearances in all competitions during the current campaign.
