Barcelona are reportedly considering using Philippe Coutinho as a makeweight in a potential deal for Inter Milan forward Lautaro Martinez.
Coutinho is currently on loan at Bayern Munich and has been in relatively good form for the German champions during the 2019-20 campaign, contributing nine goals and eight assists in 32 appearances.
Bayern are allegedly unlikely to sign the playmaker on a permanent deal this summer, though, and there has been a host of speculation surrounding his future ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.
Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are two of the latest clubs to be linked with the 27-year-old, who excelled at Liverpool before arriving at Camp Nou in January 2018.
However, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, Barca could use Coutinho in an attempt to lower Inter's asking price, which is thought to be the full €111m (£90m) buy-out figure in Martinez's contract.
Coutinho previously represented Inter between 2008 and 2013, scoring five times in 47 appearances for the Italian outfit before joining Liverpool in January 2013.
