Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly made contact with Barcelona over the possibility of signing Philippe Coutinho on loan.
Coutinho has spent the 2019-20 campaign on loan with Bayern after falling out of favour after just 18 months at Camp Nou.
Bayern announced last week that they do not intend to take up the option to sign the Brazilian playmaker permanently in the summer, however, leaving him on the lookout for a new club.
A number of teams are keeping a close eye on Coutinho's situation, with Arsenal rumoured to be weighing up a permanent deal.
According to Football Insider, Tottenham are ready to pounce should their North London rivals fail to agree terms with Barca.
Spurs are said to have asked the Catalan giants to keep them informed of any developments regarding the future of Coutinho, whose £200,000-a-week wages will need to be covered in full.
