Andros Townsend urges Tottenham Hotspur to "remain positive" after FA Cup exit

Andros Townsend is confident that Tottenham Hotspur have the "character" to bounce back from their FA Cup exit.

Andros Townsend is confident that Tottenham Hotspur will bounce back from their FA Cup exit when they take on Sheffield United in the second leg of their Capital One Cup semi-final tie.

Mauricio Pochettino's side were dumped out of the FA Cup following a 2-1 defeat to Leicester City at the weekend, but they currently hold a one-goal advantage over the Blades.

"The character is there, everyone has seen the amount of times we've come back in games this season from goals down in the last minute," the Daily Star quotes Townsend as saying.

"On Saturday it happened against us, football is like that, but we have the characters to pick ourselves up and go again on Wednesday and try to get to Wembley. We have to remain positive, the games come thick and fast."

Should Spurs reach the final by getting the right result on Thursday, they will meet Chelsea or Liverpool at Wembley.
