Tim Sherwood: 'Harry Kane would struggle getting into Aston Villa's starting XI'

Tim Sherwood insists that Harry Kane would struggle to get in Aston Villa's starting XI ahead of Christian Benteke and Gabriel Agbonlahor.

Tim Sherwood has insisted that Harry Kane would struggle to get into Aston Villa's starting XI, ahead of Christian Benteke and Gabriel Agbonlahor.

The former Tottenham Hotspur coach, who makes his return to White Hart Lane for the first time as a manager, believes that the in-form striker is not good enough to disband the front two's partnership.

"Harry is a good player and we have to show him respect but I have also seen him have off days and we have to hope he has an off day on Saturday," Sherwood said, according to Goal.com.

"But at the moment with Christian banging the goals in like he is and Gabby playing like he is, I don't think I have room for Harry.

"I have communicated with him just to wish him well and congratulate him on his international call-ups."

Sherwood's side are three points clear of the relegation zone, while Mauricio Pochettino's men are seven points off of fourth place.
