Tottenham Hotspur can banish all talk of a Wembley hoodoo by beating Bournemouth at England's national stadium on Saturday, Eric Dier claims.

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Eric Dier has played down talk of a Wembley hoodoo and is eager to put the discussion to rest by beating Bournemouth on Saturday.

Spurs are yet to record a win at the national stadium in the Premier League so far this season, losing to champions Chelsea and drawing with Burnley and Swansea City.

Dier has pointed to victories against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League and Barnsley in the EFL Cup this term as evidence that his team can perform at their temporary home.

"We have just moved to a new stadium, which is never going to be easy, but I do not think the problem is as big as some people are making it out to be," Dier told Sky Sports News.

"If you look at last season, we just had a poor Champions League campaign, I do not think it had anything to do with Wembley.

"But I think we have learned from that and you can see our results have been a lot better this season, we beat Borussia Dortmund. So I do not think you can read too much into it.

"We had a slow start in general to the season and hopefully (on Saturday) we can start to stop the whole Wembley talk."

Tottenham head into the Bournemouth game sitting third in the Premier League table and on a seven-game unbeaten run in all competitions.
