Clint Dempsey believes that Tottenham Hotspur can have a "special" season if they continue their current form.

Clint Dempsey has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur can achieve "something special" this season if they keep up their current form.

The North London club are fifth in the Premier League table after five consecutive wins, including a memorable 3-2 triumph against Manchester United at Old Trafford last month.

"We're in fifth place right now, trying to get more points, and trying to finish as high as possible," Dempsey told London 24.

"We're in a good position and if we get the right type of results we can find ourselves going even higher than that.

"We'll have to see as the season goes on what level we are really at, but I think we have the quality to do something special."

Spurs continue domestic duties a week on Saturday when they host local rivals and Premier League leaders Chelsea at White Hart Lane.
