Southampton defender Jose Fonte has hailed the coaching ability of manager Ronald Koeman.

The Saints have enjoyed an excellent start to the season under the Dutchman as they currently sit fourth in the Premier League.

Fonte believes that the club's position in the table is down to the decisiveness of the 51-year-old, and feels that they have the talent to be successful under his tenure.

He told reporters: "He is a calm person, meticulous, he goes into the last details.

"He has a great philosophy. He knows what he wants from us and we know what we want to do. I hope we can all keep growing because we have a great future in front of us."

Southampton play Manchester United in the Premier League later today.
