Southampton keeper Kelvin Davis has revealed that it was a "special moment" for him to return to the pitch in his side's Premier League clash against Burnley.
The 38-year-old was called upon to replace the injured Fraser Forster at St Mary's Stadium as the England international was forced off during the first half.
Davis put in a strong performance to keep the Clarets at bay, earning the man-of-the-match award in his side's 2-0 victory.
"Stepping on to the pitch and hearing the fans was a special moment," Davis told Sky Sports News.
"It was real touching, really emotional. You've got to control that and think of the job in the hand but it was a great feeling, it made me feel very welcome.
"Some memories coming flooding back, from when I was doing that week in, week out."
Davis made his first appearance for the Saints since February 2014 against Burnley.
