Barry Bannan is reportedly close to agreeing a new three-and-a-half year deal with Championship promotion hopefuls Sheffield Wednesday.
The 26-year-old joined the Owls from Crystal Palace last summer on a one-year deal and has since featured 18 times as the side ascended to seventh in the table.
According to Sky Sports News, the Scot is now close to penning an extension to his terms that will keep him at Hillsborough until the end of the 2018-19 season.
Speaking to the Sheffield Star about Bannan's contract earlier this week, Wednesday manager Carlos Carvalhal said: "I think Barry Bannan will be here with us and I am sure that will be solved soon. He likes it here with us and we like him."
Wednesday currently sit two points off the playoff places with 21 games of the season remaining.
