Sevilla have announced that they have struck a deal with Valencia to sign midfielder Ever Banega, subject to a medical.
The Argentine looks poised to end his eight-year spell with Los Che after their La Liga rivals confirmed that they were closing in on the 26-year-old.
"Ever Banega can become a new player of Sevilla FC if he passes the medical tests in the next few hours and the documents are signed," a statement read on Sevilla's website.
"Sevilla FC and Valencia reached an agreement in principle for the transfer of the Argentinian midfielder on Sunday afternoon."
Banega spent last season on loan with Newells Old Boys, scoring once in 20 appearances.
