Klaas-Jan Huntelaar: 'We could have scored more in Europa League win'

Schalke 04 forward Klaas-Jan Huntelaar insists that the club could have scored more goals against Asteras Tripolis following their Europa League victory.

Schalke 04 forward Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has suggested that his side could have put more goals past Asteras Tripolis in the club's recent Europa League victory.

The German outfit put four beyond the Greek side in their Group K fixture on Thursday, courtesy of a hat-trick from striker Franco di Santo at the Veltins-Arena.

"We really could have scored a lot of goals past these opponents," Huntelaar told the official Bundesliga website after the game.

"We slowed things down a bit in the second half and Asteras practically just defended because they didn't want to be beaten 7-0.

"Overall, maybe we didn't take our chances as well as we could have, but we sent in a lot of dangerous crosses and created lots of problems for them tonight."

Schalke return to Bundesliga action when they face FC Koln on home soil on Sunday.
