Sheffield United progress to second in the League One table with a 2-1 victory over Notts County.

Sheffield United have moved up to second in the League One table with a 2-1 victory over Notts County this afternoon.

Visiting County took the lead after 17 minutes through Alan Judge, whose free kick from distance was missed by everybody before nestling in the net.

It took the home side 13 minutes to draw themselves level when Ryan Flynn converted a cross from Richard Cresswell from close range.

The winning goal came in the 50th minute courtesy of an own goal from County defender Alan Sheehan. The former Leeds United full-back turned the ball into his own net while under pressure from Cresswell.

With time running out substitute Karl Hawley went close to grabbing County a draw but his effort was parried away by Steve Simonsen.

Deep into stoppage time County were reduced to ten men when Ishmel Demontagnac was handed his marching orders.
