James McClean takes to Twitter to vent his frustration at not playing for the Republic of Ireland against Kazakhstan.

Sunderland winger James McClean has vented his anger over being an unused substitute in the Republic of Ireland's 2-1 victory over Kazakhstan tonight.

Late goals from Robbie Keane and Kevin Doyle salvaged Ireland a win against the world's number 142-ranked side, who led going into the 89th minute.

However, McClean was clearly frustrated after not featuring, with manager Giovanni Trapattoni preferring Aiden McGeady and James McCarthy in midfield.

McClean tweeted: "Delighted as a fan we got the win.. Personal level #fuming #f****njoke #embarrassing."

The tweet was later deleted, but not before Trapattoni was made aware of it by the media present in Kazakhstan.

The 23-year-old has only been used sparsely by the Italian despite his consistently impressive performances for the Black Cats.
