Real Madrid assistant manager Aitor Karanka has hinted that Kaka could be on his way out of the club.
The Brazilian was recently left out of Jose Mourinho's squad for the pre-season friendly against Oviedo, leading some to believe that his days at the Bernabeu are numbered.
Kaka has struggled with injuries and loss of form since his £50m move from AC Milan in 2009.
Karanka has now confirmed that discussions regarding his future at the club are currently ongoing.
"We decided he should stay in Madrid [rather than travel with the squad to play Oviedo]," said Karanka. "Kaka and the club are working to find a solution that is good for both parties."
Kaka has been linked with a return to the Rossoneri.
